Make a Slide Show

In answer to a question by Roger Sharman.

The slide shows on this site are made using the built in programs.
On the download page there are 3 programs that can build slide shows, 2 of them are slide programs only
and 1 of them an image viewer that can build slide shows, among other things.

If you decide you need an image viewer as well 1st download XN view and install.

Open program and press Ctrl + L or Tools--Slide Show

In the next window choose to add a complete folder or separate files from multiple folders, follow your nose and when ready press Create
in the top tool bar, decide where to save and save, the produced file is an executable file and will play on any version of Windows.

I you only need the slide show program you can download either of the other 2, XAT works very well but will loose some of its attributes
after the 30 day trial period when it converts to the freeware version, it is logical to use and produces compressed files that can be exported to the web or sent by Email.

We are now left with Microsoft's free offering Photo Story 3.
The only problem I have with this application is the fact that it produces WMV files and replays them on Windows Media Player, that said it does work!
Music can be added and the file size is very useable, the end product  has very much got its own character  and is pleasing on the eye.

To use it is very much like a comic strip, complete one window and move on to the next, anything missed and it won't move on, the lay out is not bad and it works quickly .  Best of all it's from Microsoft and FREE.
