Onchan. The headland to the north of Douglas. Arrived on the Island at about 6-30 am on the 22nd of August. Departed at 8-45 am on the 5th of September. In the 2 week stay it only rained for 1/2 of one day. As is usual with our stays on the Island we stayed in Peel with Fanta (Ivan) we being Nigel, Winger and myself. After 18+ years of living in Peel, Fanta is on the way to becoming accepted by the locals. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On this page you will find a few views of the Island, but because I still am not as mobile as I would like, the selection is a bit limited.
Peel Castle and breakwater.
This view is from the bottom of Fanta's lane, 25 yards from his front door.
The wall at the bottom of Fanta's lane.
The mixture of salt water and the heavy sea breeze's errode the soft sand stone.
A street in Old Peel.
This is a common sight in Peel, as most of the streets in this old fishing port are the same.
One more lane in Peel.
The locals seem to like flowers.
Peel harbour with Peel hill to the right.
The Point of Ayre to the north of Ramsay.
Sulby Reservior.
This is above Sulby Glen on the way up the mountain.
Just the two of us and the sea.
These are just some of the things to see on a very pretty Island.
