Dial Up


To set up a Dial Up connection

  • Start> Settings> Network Connections> New Connection Wizard.
  • New Connection Wizard> Next
  • Connect to the Internet> Next
  • Set up my connection manually> Next
  • Connect using Dial up Modem> Next
  • Connection name. > Whatever you type here will be the name shown for this connection   ie  ICE  { In case of Emergency )> Next
  • Phone Number to Dial>  08456042079> Next
  • Internet Account Information> User name> Put your complete Telephone number in here> Password> Freedom> Confirm password> Freedom>  un tick " Make this my default Internet connection" > Next
  • Completing the New Connection Wizard> Put a tick in the box to create a Desktop Icon> Finish
  • An Icon will now appear on the Desktop, you can leave it there if you wish or drag it on to the programs menu or put it as a quick launch icon, as long as you know where it is ,it doesn't really matter. The next time your Broadband goes down, plug  your Dial up Modem to the phone line socket, click on your link and away you go, remember it will be slow but it is better than nothing...........

The service that this connects to is  FREEDOM 2 SURF and it will cost you nothing if you don't use it.
 You will be charged by your telephone provider at the cost per minute of a phone call if you have to use it.
